Sam, Katie & Mitch are joined by Kristina Jankulovska the founder of the ‘Coast to Mountain’ Running store based in Port Kembla. Kristina talks to us about juggling parenting, running the store, working full-time and managing her own running journey. Kristina recently completed the UTA50K race in the blue mountains and walks us through a very deliberate training plan from nutrition all the way through to 4am gym sessions and cross-training.
Mitch walks us through his race at Wollongong Running Festival where he ran 1:19 in the half marathon, and Katie takes out the win in 5k Female Category. Mitch puts together a solid training week despite a hammy niggle. Katie talks us through her MRI which indicated a stress fracture of the femur which means she will be out of action running wise for a little while. Sam talks about his return to running as he got the all clear post MRI with no indication of a shin stress reaction, though thinks he will need time to adjust and get conditioned to string together training weeks.

In the latest podcast episode, Russ and Sam tackle the Christchurch Marathon with mixed experiences. Despite struggling with a shin stress fracture, Sam completes the 10k race in a respectable 39 minutes after minimal training. Russ, however, steals the show with a remarkable performance. He clinches 4th place in the marathon, crossing the finish line in 2 hours, 33 minutes, and 14 seconds, achieving his first-ever negative split in a marathon.
During their time in Christchurch, Russ and Sam also had the chance to explore the city and its surroundings, enjoying some memorable experiences. Sam, has already set his sights on returning next year to complete the marathon.
